Match Report for Netball Year 7 & 8
Year 8 (Croydon League) - 18/10/16
Harris Invictus 3 Harris Crystal Palace 6
The year 8 team arrived full of positive thoughts for the match and season ahead. We had a tight knit team with some strong attacking players. With only seven players, the match was fast paced from the very start and the girls were hungry for goals. Kelis Walker and Renae Ebanks were always quick of the mark and worked well as a pair, using the sides of the court and which effectively kept the game moving. We started slow as a team during the first two quarters but this soon changed later on. Once the girls sussed out their opponents and play we started to gain confidence. Students were calling for the ball and encouraging one another. By the third quarter we managed to score 3 goals. The score was 3-5 to Harris Crystal Palace. The score was tight during the third and final quarter. Unfortunately our defensive play was not as strong as their attacking players and Crystal Place sprinted through our gaps. This was an exciting match. Well done girls, you should all be very proud of yourselves.

Year 7 (Croydon League) – 18/10/16
Harris Invictus 0 Harris Crystal Palace 11
The year 7 netball team arrived full of excitement for their first match of the season. Once the girls got to grips with the size of the court and the rhythm of the game the ball started to flow. The girls showed strong attacking play, with quick movements and fast feet, all of which they have only just learnt! During the first quarter no goals were scored and we kept a tight defensive within the goal third. Harris Crystal Palace fought back and started to score. New players were brought on from both teams during the third and fourth quarters, massively changing the dynamics of the game. The game suddenly became very fast and tactical. Unfortunately we weren’t able to hold the fort and defend despite our efforts. Crystal Palace scored several goals during the third and fourth quarter. The girls showed great commitment and left with positive attitudes for the season ahead. Well done girls!
