Intervention and Masterclasses
We work hard to prepare all students for their exams and run a full programme of intervention sessions in Year 11, including during the holidays.
Year 11 interventions begin in the autumn term and run throughout the year. The intervention timetable is released to students and their families in the first half term of autumn. Families will also receive details of the interventions that take place during each half-term holiday, and during the Easter break. There are no interventions during the Christmas break.
Selected students at Key Stage 4 have access to 1:3 tutoring with English and Maths tutors from the National Tutoring programme. We also have academic mentors who work in classes to support students in classes such as Maths, History and English.
When the GCSEs begin, Year 11 students removed from their normal class timetable and receive ‘drop downs’ for individual subjects prior to the exams. Students are informed of this prior to their examinations.
