Music in Secondary Schools Trust Together Day

Students from our Year 7 String program attended a Music in Secondary Schools Trust Together Day, where they joined with other schools from across London and the South East to experience performing in a large scale orchestra.

Pupils rehearsed and performed the opening soundtrack to Jurassic Park as well as Soul Bossa Nova by Quincy Jones, made famous by the Austin Powers movie series.

This day not only provided many students with their first flavour of orchestral playing, but it also provided them with an opportunity to practice and refine the repertoire they will play at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank in March when all MiSST schools from across the country will join together to perform a wide range of orchestral and choral repertoires.

The students should be commended for their excellent behaviour throughout the trip, as well as their ability to get stuck into the often quite challenging music.
